Özet
“Toplum içindeki en küçük birlik” olarak tanımlanan aile, birçok kültürde olduğu gibi, Türk toplumunda da kutsal sayılan ve oluşumu törenlerle kutlanan bir kurumdur. Yöresel farklılıklara rağmen, bu törenlerin her aşamasında belirli kurallar ve âdetler yer alır. Türk kültüründe yeni bir ailenin kurulmasına verilen önem dile de yansımış, evlenme gelenek ve görenekleri açısından Türkçede zengin bir söz mirası meydana gelmiştir. Evlilik merasimlerinde yer alan kişiler ve uygulamalar kendilerine has isimleriyle bu mirasta geniş bir yer kaplar. Özellikle bolluk ve bereketin sembolü olarak görülen gelinin tören için hazırlanmasına özen gösterildiğinden bu hazırlıkta katkısı olanlara verilen değer de büyüktür. Gelinin düğün için süslenmesi, aynı toplum içinde bile bölgelere göre değişiklikler göstermektedir. Farklılıklara rağmen, makyaj ve saç düzenlemesi bu süsleme işinin temel unsurlarıdır. Gelini düğün merasimine hazırlamada bu temel unsurları gereği gibi yerine getirmek önemli olduğundan, onu süsleme görevini üstlenen kişiler de rastgele seçilmez. Söz konusu kişilerin bazı koşulları yerine getirmesi ve belirli meziyetlere sahip olması gerekir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle evlenme ve aile kavramlarıyla düğün merasimlerinin sosyokültürel yönü üzerinde durulacak ve Türk toplumunda geline atfedilen öneme değinilecektir. Gelini düğün merasimi için hazırlayan kişilerde aranılan özellikler sıralandıktan sonra gelinle ilgili tören âdetleri ve uygulamaları ele alınacaktır. Son bölümde ise hem gelinin merasim için nasıl hazırlandığı hem de tarihî süreçte ve Türkiye Türkçesi ağızlarında gelini süsleyen meslek erbabının kimler olduğu hakkında bilgi verilecektir.
Turkish society as in many cultures and it is celebrated with ceremonies. Despite the regional differences, certain rules and morals take place at every stage of the marriage ceremony. Because importance attributed to the establishment of a new home in Turkish culture reflects on the language and a rich vocabulary is occurred in Turkish from the point of view of marriage customs and traditions. Particularly people and applications involved in the marriage ceremony take an important place in the vocabulary with their own traditional names. This is because preparation of the bride as a symbol of abundance and fertility for the ceremony is very important, people who prepare the bride for this special day are also of value. Adorning the bride for the wedding varies by region, even within the same society. Despite the differences, a beautiful makeup and hairdressing are fundamental elements of the adornment process. Because it is an important to prepare the bride to the wedding ceremony, people undertaking this task can’t be randomly selected. These people must fulfill certain conditions and must possess certain virtues. This study will focus primarily on socio-cultural aspects of the wedding ceremonies, marriage and family concepts; then the importance attributed to the bride in Turkish society will be discussed. After that, required qualifications for people who adorn the bride for the wedding ceremony will be focused on. In the last part of the paper, information will be provided on how brides are adorned for the ceremony and how professionals adorning the bride are called historically and in Turkish local dialects.
