dc.description.abstractA new binary systematic linear block code construction technique, called as Systematic Distance-4 (SD-4) codes that generates all the optimal size Hamming distance-4 codes, is recently proposed. In this paper, we evaluate the error performance of some of the SD-4 codes to measure the coding gain of the codes over Rician and Rayleigh fading channels. We also compared the results with the error performance of the same size extended Hamming codes, which is the subset of SD-4 codes.en_US
