Abstract
Urban mobility increases depending on the increase in the population of Istanbul. In cities with high population and mobility, the concept of integration stands out especially within the scope of sustainable public transportation service. In this concept, the presence of land uses creates travel demands such as universities, health institutions, green areas and the newly opened T5 tram line and the potential travel demands in addition to the incoming travel demands were considered in this study. Data such as number of trips, duration, cost and alternative routes were obtained from public authorities, different scenarios were established, empirical assumptions were developed for the scenarios and different results were obtained from the empirical assumptions of each scenarios. Evaluations were made within the scope of more active use of the newly proposed routes and the new tram line and sea transportation integration in the gulf. Moreover, the number of trips that may occur after a possible sea integration, and the travel routes were estimated. As a result, 2 new piers are determined in the gulf, and conclusions were reached about what conditions should be provided for the sea integration to serve effectively and efficiently at certain times of the day. Furthermore, within the scope of the study, an opinion was expressed on what would be the most effective solution within the scope of the Random Benefit Theorem for users.
