Özet
İstanbul Helen Edebiyat Cemiyeti (Syllogos), 1861’de, Osmanlı Rumları arasında eğitimi geliştirmek ve Rumların kimliklerini korumak amacıyla kuruldu. Araştırmacılar için, değerli bir kütüphane oluşturdu. Syllogos, “Türkiye’deki Rumların Eğitim Bakanlığı” gibi çalıştı. 1923’te Ankara’ya gönderilen kütüphanesinin akıbeti 1933’e kadar meçhul kaldı. Aynı yıl elyazmaları ile kitapların tarih ve arkeoloji ile ilgili olanları Türk Tarih Kurumu’na verildi. Geri kalanlar ise, yıllar içerisinde Milli Kütüphane’de toplanacaktır.
The Constantinople Hellenic Literary Society (Syllogos) was founded in 1861 to enhance the education among Ottoman Greeks and to keep their identity and it established a valuable library of its time for researchers and frequenters. Syllogos functioned as if it was "The Ministry of Education for Greeks in Turkey". What happened to its library, which was sent to Ankara in 1923 was unknown until 1933. In 1933 the books are distributed to various institutions. Books, mostly about history and archaelogy and the manuscripts were given to Turkish Historical Society. After years, the others were collected in the National Library.
