Abstract
Bu çalışmada denetim komitesi kavramı tüm boyutlarıyla açıklanmış, denetim komitesinin denetim ve iç kontrolle ilişkisi ve denetimin kalitesini artırıcı katkıları üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu kapsamda; denetim kavramı açıklanarak denetim komitesinin oluşumu hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. İç kontrolün ne olduğuna ve dünyada ne gibi çalışmalar yapıldığına bakılmıştır. Denetim komitesi kavramının ne olduğu, yapısı, işleyişi, unsurları ve amacı üzerinde durulmuştur. Denetim komitesinin tarihsel gelişim süreçlerine, Türkiye'de denetim komitesine nasıl bakıldığına ve nasıl değerlendirildiğine değinilmiştir. Denetim komitesinin işleyişinin nasıl olduğu ve nasıl olması gerektiği açıklanmıştır. Denetim komitesinin finansal raporlama, iç kontrol, risk yönetimi, iç denetim, bağımsız denetim üzerinde olan etkilerine değinilmiştir.
In this study audit committee has been explained thoroughly and the effects of audit committee on audit and quality of auditing have been mentioned. Within this scope, the information about the formation of audit committee has been given by explaining the audit concept. It has been checked what is internal control and what works are being done around the world. The concept of the audit committee, structure, functions, elements and goals are emphasized. The historical development of audit committee and how is it seen and evaluated in Turkey has been mentioned. The functioning of audit committee and how should it be has been explained. The impacts of audit committee on internal control, independent audit, financial reporting and risk management has been mentioned
