Öğe Application of neural networks in talent management(IEEE Computer Society, 2014) Waheed, Sajjad; Zaim, Abdül Halim; Zaim, Halil; Sertbaş, Ahmet; Akyokuş, SelimStudy of talent management is getting more attentions in the recent years. It was found that there are no easy classification methods for verifying talents. This paper discusses the application of neural networks for a talent matrix based talent classification process. The proposed method is easy to implement, and free from biasing and nepotism. © 2014 IEEE.Öğe A cross-layer adaptive channel selection mechanism for IEEE 802.11P suite(Springer International Publishing, 2015) Boyacı, Ali; Zaim, Halil; Sönmez, CoşkunRecent advances in the automotive industry enabled us to build fast, reliable, and comfortable vehicles with lots of safety features. Also, roads are designed and made safer than ever before. However, traffic accidents remain one of the major causes of death. Intelligent transport systems are expected to reduce if not prevent accidents with interconnected vehicles and infrastructures. These vehicular ad hoc networks are highly dynamic and fragile. Although the standardization efforts are mature enough, the non-emergency/service channel selection mechanisms are not explicitly defined. In this paper, a novel cross-layer prediction-based algorithm is proposed to select the best possible service channel to decrease collisions beforehand. Theoretical analysis regarding the mean squared error prediction performance is established. It is shown that the proposed method outperforms the general Markovian-based prediction schemes under various traffic load scenarios. © 2015, Boyacıet al.Öğe Determining the Critical Factors of Tacit Knowledge in Service Industry in Turkey(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Zaim, Halil; Gürcan, Ömer Faruk; Tarım, Merve; Zaim, Selim; Alpkan, Lütfihak; Ozsahin, MehtapTacit knowledge is considered as a strategic factor in knowledge management implementation. Accordingly, it attracts significant attention both from researchers and academicians. Managing tacit knowledge effectively and efficiently is becoming a key success factor for organizations. To gain competitive advantage by using tacit knowledge, tacit knowledge should be understood well. Determining critical factors of tacit knowledge is expected to be helpful. The critical factors of tacit knowledge are one of the challenging issues in knowledge management. This paper aims to analyze critical factors of tacit knowledge based survey data. The survey of this study is conducted on composed of 30 companies from different sectors within service industry in Turkey. The obtained data from the surveys is analyzed through the SPSS statistical packaged software. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) show that tacit knowledge was divided into four factors, namely individual/personal knowledge, managerial knowledge, expertise knowledge, and collective knowledge. The empirical evidences show that five main KM processes namely knowledge generation and development, knowledge codification and storage, knowledge utilization, knowledge sharing and knowledge distribution can be constituted into a useful model. Our research findings revealed that there is a positive linear correlation between KM processes and leadership except knowledge codification and storage.Öğe İş hayatında erdemli insanın yetkinlikleri ile performans arasındaki ilişki(İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi, 2013) Zaim, Halilİş hayatında tüm paydaşların huzurlu bir ortamda iş yapması, verimli ve başarılı olabilmeleri ancak erdemli yönetici ve çalışanlarla mümkündür. Nihayet İstanbul merkezli bir saha çalışması ile 2585 çalışan ve yöneticiden toplanan veriler analiz edilerek erdemli insanın yetkinlikleri ile şirketlerin performansı arasındaki ilişki ortaya konulmuştur.Öğe Knowledge management and ERP: Complementary or contradictory?(Elsevier Ltd, 2017) Acar, M. Fatih; Tarım, Merve; Zaim, Halil; Zaim, Selim; Delen, DursunThis research aims at deepening the understanding of the effects of information systems on supply chain operations, and to find the level and direction of the relationship between Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Knowledge Management (KM) in the context of operational and financial performance. Essentially, this study emphasizes the explanation of the complementary relationship between ERP and KM. Therefore, the mediating effect of KM is also analyzed. Using a survey method, 163 responses are collected from Turkish manufacturing companies which operate in a variety of industries. A structural equation modelling (SEM) is used to test both the reliability and validity of measurement and the structural path model. The results show that ERP has no significantly positive effect on operational performance, but it is a precedent of KM. Moreover, results also show that KM affects operational performance positively and it has a mediating effect for the relationship between ERP and operational performance. Lastly, the path analysis shows that operational performance is positively associated with financial performance. © 2017 Elsevier LtdÖğe Measuring the Impact of Tacit Knowledge on Individual and Financial Performances: A Field Study in Turkey(Springer Nature, 2021) Tarim, Merve; Erzurum, Erdem; Akçan, A. Örtülü bilgi ise bu kaynaklar içerisinde buzdağının görünmeyen kısmını oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonucunda elde edilen en önemli sonuçlardan biri örtülü bilgi ile hem kurumsal hem de bireysel performans arasında doğru yönlü, olumlu bir ilişki olduğudur.Öğe Relationship between knowledge management processes and performance: critical role of knowledge utilization in organizations(Taylor and Francis Ltd., 2019) Zaim, Halil; Muhammed, Shahnawaz; Tarım, MerveThis study examines the relationship between knowledge management processes and its impact on knowledge management performance. A structural model of knowledge management processes showing the relationship of knowledge generation, knowledge sharing, knowledge storage, and knowledge utilization and its subsequent impact on organizational KM performance is proposed. The model is tested using data collected from 1068 individuals working in primarily service based organizations in Turkey. A split-sample methodology is used to validate our measurement model and to further test the structural model. The results indicate that knowledge utilization mediates the relationship between rest of the knowledge management processes and organizational knowledge management performance. Knowledge generation is found to directly impact knowledge management performance, in addition to having a mediated impact through knowledge utilization. The results also provide support for the hypothesized relationship that suggests that the impact of knowledge generation and knowledge sharing on knowledge utilization is mediated by knowledge capture. © 2018, © Operational Research Society 2018.
