    CRISIS MANAGEMENT DURING THE ARAB SPRING: CASE OF AN EGYPTIAN COMPANY

    The Egyptian revolution has converted the Middle-East firms radically in many ways. As the number of deaths increased, the economy of Egypt was ripped, regional economic relationships were falling apart and businesses collapsed. The protests affected the politics, security, safety and economy of Egypt. The new government made new regulations which made it harder for businesses to operate. The aim of this study is to investigate the crisis management practices of an Egyptian import company during the Arab spring. This investigation has been done by the general manager by taking the right actions of different practices in order to face the crises that had an influence on the company. In addition to that, the article discusses the Arab spring, the Egyptian pound crisis and the crisis management literature which might be useful for decision making Since there have been a number of empirical studies on crisis management, the present study aims to contribute to the related literature by using a qualitative methodology, including in-depth interviews with a top executive of a firm operating in Egypt. The analysis indicated that crisis management is very vital for a company. In addition, it proved that in as much as it is essential and necessary to prepare a plan to adjust to a crisis situation, flexibility is equally important in adjusting to the different circumstances which a company might be faced with.     DESIGNING STRATEGY DIMENSION OF THE ORGANIZATION BASED ON BIG DATA ANALYTICS CAPABILITY

    Big data attracts the attention of many enterprises. Many companies invest in big data technology but it is however, observed that they face some challenges. Technical and social dimensions play an important role in adapting to new technologies. The organizational researchers have developed models to explore possible areas to be improved. Strategic alignment is regarded as a major success in organizational design literature. The strategy directly affects the technology itself and other dimensions such as organizational structure, process, organizational culture and human resources. This study aims to concentrate on how to align big data analytics capability (BDAC) with the strategy, drawing on resource-based theory (RBT) and organizational design. A big airline company has been selected as a case study to investigate the possible relationship between BDAC and strategy. The interviews and the collected documents show that the company should align BDAC with the strategy by focusing more on customer-centric applications.     Procrastination, its antecedents and its organisational outcomes among employees in the public sector in Istanbul

    This study investigates the phenomenon of the tendency to procrastinate with its three triggers: time management, perfectionism, and fear of failure as well as its organisational outcomes which are higher job stress and lower job satisfaction. Parametric tests and path analysis were performed to analyse the relationship between the variables in the model. The results revealed that poor time management (time wasting and deficient time efficiency), discrepancy and fear of failure are causes of procrastination in organisations and the employees, who procrastinate, report a higher job stress and a lower job satisfaction.
