Özet
Mevcut çalışma, Covid-19 salgınının Hintli şirketler üzerindeki etkilerinin niteliksel bir analizini sunmaktadır. Bu çalışma için seçilen şirketler arasında Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki Ltd, Infosys, TCS, Bajaj Finance Ltd, HDFC Bank ve Hindustan Unilever Ltd bulunmaktadır. Bu şirketler, Otomobil, BT, finans endüstrisi, bankacılık sektörü ve tüketim malları sektörü. Bu çalışmada ikincil veri toplama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Şirketlerin mali performansları, şirketlerin mali tabloları incelenerek değerlendirilmiştir. Veriler 2019-2021 dönemine ait firmaların faaliyet raporlarından ve Screener internet sitesinden toplanmıştır. Seçilen firmaların üçer aylık raporları da Screener web sitesi kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Bu çalışmanın bulguları, otomobil endüstrisi, finans endüstrisi, bilişim ve tüketim malları sektöründe covid-19 dönemi öncesi ve sırasında faaliyet karı, net kar, toplam gelir, satışlar ve giderlerde zorlayıcı bir farkı ortaya koydu. BT şirketleri: Infosys ve TCS, karantina döneminde büyük bir düşüşle karşı karşıya kaldı. Karantina döneminden sonra şirketler toparlanmaya başlar. Hindustan Unilever Limited (tüketim malları sektörü) de karantina döneminde net kârında ve gelirinde büyük bir düşüşle karşı karşıya kaldı. Otomobil sektörü, Covid-19 döneminde büyük bir düşüşle karşı karşıya kaldı. Hindistan'ın genel ekonomisi de covid-19 döneminde önemli ölçüde etkilendi. Hindistan'ın iki büyük borsası olan NSE ve BSE, bu borsalarda işlem gören şirketlerin kötü veya azalan performansları nedeniyle düşüşle karşı karşıya kaldı. Pandemi sürecinden en çok mikro, küçük ve orta ölçekli işletmeler (KOBİ'ler) etkilendi. Bu çalışma, Hindistan borsasında işlem gören şirketlerin covid-19 dönemi öncesi ve sırasındaki finansal performansını incelemesiyle diğer çalışmalardan ayrılıyor.
The current study provides a qualitative analysis of the effects of the Covid-19 outbreak on Indian companies. The selected companies for this study include Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki Ltd, Infosys, TCS, Bajaj Finance Ltd, HDFC Bank, and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. These companies belong to different sectors including Auto-mobile, IT, financial industry, banking sector, and consumer goods sector. The secondary data collection method was used in this study. The financial performance of the companies was assessed by analyzing the financial statements of the companies. Data was collected from the period of 2019-2021 from annual reports of the companies and the screener website. The quarterly reports of the selected companies were also assessed by using the screener website. The findings of this study disclosed a compelling difference in operating profit, net profit, total income, sales, and expenses before and during the covid-19 period in the automobile industry, financial industry, IT, and consumer goods sector. The IT companies: Infosys and TCS faced a major decline during the lockdown period. After the lockdown period companies start recovering. Hindustan Unilever Limited (consumer goods sector) also faced a major drop in its net profit and income during the lockdown period. The automobile industry faced a major decline during the Covid-19 period. The overall economy of India was also affected significantly during the covid-19 period. The two major stock exchanges of India: NSE and BSE faced a drop due to the bad or declining performance of the companies listed on these stock exchanges. Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were affected most during the pandemic. This study is distinctive from other studies because it examines the financial performance of companies listed on the Indian stock exchange before and during the covid-19 period.
