Özet
Tüm dünyayı etkisi altına alan COVID-19 pandemisi, hayatımızı her alanda etkilerken bilgi kirliliğini de beraberinde getirmiştir. Pandemiyle birlikte Twitter başta olmak üzere sosyal medya mecralarında çok sayıda sahte haber dolaşıma girmiştir. Sahte haber salgını olarak bilinen 'İnfodemi", COVID-19 pandemisiyle birlikte, küresel düzeyde tekrar gündeme gelen bir kavram olmuştur. Çalışma kapsamında infodemi çeşitli yönleriyle ele alınarak ülkemizde COVID-19 döneminde Twitter kullanıcılarının haber tüketim alışkanlıklarına dair bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Araştırmada katılımcıların COVID-19 sürecinde haber tüketim pratikleri, haberin aktarıldığı mecraya duydukları güven ve mevcut haberlere ilişkin düşüncelerinin derinlemesine incelenmesi amacıyla nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma desenleri arasında yer alan olgu bilim (fenomenoloji) deseni kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca çalışmada amaçlı-maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesi tekniğinden faydalanılmıştır. Bu çalışma, tüm dünyayı derinden etkileyen salgın ve benzeri koşullarda bireylerin, haber tüketim alışkanlıklarının değişimleri ve Twitter özelinde sosyal medya mecralarında ciddi bir güvenilirlik sorunu olduğunu ortaya koyması açısından önemlidir ve ilgili literatüre önemli bir katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. Araştırmamızda elde edilen bulgulara göre Twitter'da dolaşıma giren sahte haberler, bireylerde korku ve kaygıya neden olmaktadır. Araştırma, Twitter'ın güvenilir bir haber kaynağı olarak görülmediğini ortaya koymuştur. Araştırmaya katılan katılımcıların, bu mecraya güvenmemekle birlikte kendi görüşlerine yakın haber platformlarını ve resmi hesapları takip ederek haber alma ihtiyaçlarını giderdikleri görülmektedir.
The COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the whole world, has brought information pollution while affecting our lives in all areas. Along with the pandemic, a lot of fake news has been circulated on social media channels, especially Twitter. The 'Infodemic', known as the fake news epidemic, has been a concept that has come to the fore again at the global level with the COVID-19 pandemic. With in the scope of the study, a research was conducted on the news consumption habits of Twitter users during the COVID-19 period in our country by considering various aspects of the infodemic. In theresearch, qualitative research method was used in order to examine the participants' news consumption practices during the COVID-19 process, their trust in the media where the news is conveyed, and their thoughts on current news. In the study, the phenomenology design, which is among the qualitative research designs, was used. In addition, purposive-maximum diversity sampling technique was used in the study. This study is important in terms of revealing the changes in the news consumption habits of individuals in epidemic and similar conditions that deeply affect the whole world, and in terms of revealing a serious reliability problem in social media channels in particular Twitter, and it is thought that it will make an important contribution to the relevant literature. According to the findings of our research, fake news circulating on Twitter causes fear and anxiety in individuals. The research revealed that Twitter is not seen as a reliable news source. It is seen that the participants participating in the research do not trust this medium, but follow news platforms and official accounts that are close to their own views and meet their need for news.
