Although violence is a public health problem in Turkey and violence against women has been increasing at each passing day. Violence against women arising from gender inequality is reflected by the public over the use of masculine language through the media. Violence against women has increased in Turkey and the World. As a result of archaeological researches, violence against women continues to develop in a parallel process from the time of humanity to the present day. In this context, the newspapers related to violence against women in Turkey were examined. In this study, Hürriyet, Sabah and Sözcü newspapers, which have the highest circulation newspapers with different publication policies of 7, 8 and 9 March 2019, were preferred due to the 8 March International Women's Day. Violence news against women was analyzed with a content analysis method in three days. Such a study based on violence against women on women's day is academically important since it has not been done before. The aim of the study is to investigate the reflections of violence against women based on gender inequality to the print media. The patriarchal societies dominated the world brought the concept of violence with it. The reason for this is the power that strong people apply to weak people due to their creation. While the strong people meant here are masculine people, those who are seen as weak and weak are women, children and animals. The concept of social inequality caused by the patriarchal structure causes many problems. The most important of these problems is the formation of violence against women, children, animals and people who are in a vulnerable state. Gender discrimination first begins in the family. After learning the gender of the baby, which begins to develop in the womb of individuals who want to have children, it prepares according to gender. If the sex of the individual in the mother's womb is girl, pink colour is preferred and clothes and toys are purchased accordingly, and if the individual is male, the blue colour is preferred and items that appeal to boys are taken. This situation causes the unborn baby to be born into an environment where gender inequality occurs. In order to avoid gender inequality and raise conscious individuals, parents need to get away from sexist minds. In this context, the concept of violence against women arising from gender inequality harms the person not only physical violence but also psychological (emotional - verbal), economic and sexual violence. In the news examined in the research, women exposed to physical violence are exposed to other types of violence before the discussion. In the last stage, she applies physical violence to the woman for reasons such as showing power, frightening or revenge. A woman who is exposed to physical violence is injured or killed. Seeing thousands of women die every year in the World and Turkey, and violence continues to die. In masculine (male) dominant understanding, he defines male, namely masculine personality, as an absolute sovereign power. Hence, men are positioned as a superior power over women. The general role of women in society has been accepted as a problematic situation that constantly serves men, has to obey men, do not oppose their words, women are passive and men are active. The masculine belief of society advocates that men are strong, practical, intelligent, successful; women are expressed as powerless, weak, passive, charming, honest, and more intelligent than men. Although the power inequality between women and men has been a situation that has been going on for centuries, it suggests that the masculine person has the ability to dominate the woman with the power he gained from the physical and patriarchal social structure. With the self-confidence of this power, men can dominate women and intervene with the women who oppose her or wants to defend themselves. As a result of researches, it has been revealed that many women have remained when they face physical, sexual, psychological, emotional and economic violence. Among the most obvious reasons for this situation are; the woman has no place to go. If she has children, she thinks that her children will be left unattended. Being not economically free, fear of being killed, etc. reasons are such lies. Women remain helpless in the face of these issues and cannot complain to institutions and organizations that prevent this violence. Women are shown not only in newspapers but also on television as violent individuals, reflected from a sexist perspective and completely isolate women from social life. Different meanings are attributed to women with a sexist attitude in television, especially in advertisements, series and movies. Women are regarded as a sexual object in these areas as a mother, spouse, cook, housework, cleaning, responsible for the child, coming after the man about all kinds of rights. The only problem is not the language used in women's news. The photographs used in women's news in the newspapers consider the woman as a sexual object in general. This situation, which emerged in the news of violence against women, commodifies women. The woman's body is exposed as it is. Women's photos, the female body is given in the pornographic form.
