Abstract
İnsanlık tarihinin ilk dönemlerinden bu yana, basit anlamıyla taşımacılık; yani ürünlerin, malzemelerin vs. bir yerden bir yere taşınması zorunlu bir faaliyet olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Lojistik kavramı ise, taşımacılığı da içerisinde barındıran sistematik bir disiplinler bütünüdür. Askeri alanda kullanılmaya başlanan lojistik faaliyetleri küreselleşmenin de etkisiyle ticari alanda da kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Ticaret hayatındaki önemi ise bu konuda uzmanlaşmış firmalara mali avantajlar sağlayabilmesidir. Doğal kaynakların kısıtlı olması ve geçmiş yıllarda bu kaynakların bilinçsizce kullanılmasından dolayı günümüzde “yeşil lojistik” kavramı önem kazanmıştır. Firmalar gerek çevresel kaygılar gerekse diğer firmalar ile rekabetleri ölçütünde bir fark yaratmak adına tersine lojistik, yeşil tedarik zinciri yönetimi, yeşil depolama, yeşil paketleme ve atık yönetimi gibi faaliyetlere yönelmişlerdir.
Since from the beginning of mankind history; transportation, with it’s simple definition is a mandatory activity of moving products, goods etc. from one place to another. Logistics itself is a whole concept discipline including transportation. Logistic activities started to be used in the military field; have also started to be used in the commercial field due to the effect of globalization. It’s importance in commercial field is providing financial advantages to the companies which have expertise on it. Due to the fact that natural resources are limited and those resources were used unconciously in the past, “green logistics” concept has an importance today. Companies are oriented towards the concepts such as reverse logistics, green logistics management systems, green warehousing, green packaging and waste management; not only for enviromental endeavors, but also for competing with others by making a difference.
