dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada Osmanlı'dan günümüze kadar uzanan süreçte, camilerin işlevleri ve sosyal değişim kapsamında nasıl bir kurumsal dönüşüm yaşadıkları İstanbul camileri üzerinden incelenmiştir. Sosyal değişme kuramları çerçevesinde, batıda başlayan değişim dalgalarının, ideoloji ve yöntemsel farklılaşmaların camilerin fonksiyonları üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada Osmanlı klasik dönemi olan on beş ve on altıncı yüzyıllardaki caminin kurumsallığı referans alınarak günümüze ulaşan ve sosyal değişime uğrayan işlevler incelenmiştir. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu dönemi boyunca Cami toplumsal hayatın önemli bir merkezidir. Özellikle Klasik Dönemde cami sosyal bir merkez ve toplumsalın onun çevresinde konumlandığı bir sosyalizasyon arenası olarak görülmektedir. Oluşan bu fiziki ve manevi merkeziliğin vesilesiyle camiler birçok işleve sahip sosyal kurumlar olarak betimlenmektedir. Câmilerin, tarihî süreç içinde, bu işlevlerinden bazıları yönetimsel nedenler amacıyla değiştirilmiş; bazen de gelişen ve genişleyen toplumun ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda sosyal değişme ile revize edilmiş ve yeni işlevlere sahip olmuştur. Cami sadece şehrin değil aynı zamanda mahallenin de merkezini oluşturmakta ve çeşitli sosyal işlevlerini mahalle içinde de sürdürmektedir. Yaptığımız araştırma göstermektedir ki sosyal değişimin etkisinde Osmanlı camilerinin birçok işlevi dönüşüm geçirmiştir. Bu değişimlerin neler olduğu ve nasıl gerçekleştiği çalışmamızın temel konusu olup, İstanbul camileri üzerinden incelenerek günümüz camilerinin işlevleri ile karşılaştırılacaktır. dc.description.abstractIn this resarch, the functions of the mosques and their institutional transformation within the scope of social change have been examined through the Istanbul mosques during the period from the Ottoman to the present. When analyzed within the framework of social change theories, the effects of the waves of change that started in the west, ideology and methodological differences on the functions of mosques were investigated. In the research, the functions that have survived and have been subjected to social change have been examined by taking the institutionality of the mosque in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries into the Ottoman classical period. The Mosque in the Ottoman Empire is in an important center of social life. Especially in the Classical Period, the mosque is seen as a social center and a socialization arena where the social is located around it. Thanks to this physical and spiritual centrality, mosques can be described as social institutions with many functions. While the mosques have been changing some of these functions for administrative reasons in the historical process; sometimes it has been revised with social change in line with the needs of the developing and expanding society and has new functions. The mosque is not only the city but also the center of the neighborhood and maintains its various social functions in the neighborhood. Our research shows that many functions of Ottoman mosques have been transformed under the influence of social change. What these changes are and how they happen is the main subject of our study and will be examined through the Istanbul mosques and compared with the functions of today's mosques.
