Covid-19 pandemisinin meslek seçimlerine etkisi: Turizm sektöründe bir araştırma

Bir anda tüm dünyayı etkisi altına alan Covid-19 pandemisi, iki yıl boyunca hayatlarımızda büyük etkiler bıraktı. Bir çok yaşamın, hayata bakış açısının, gelecek planlarının değişmesine neden olduğu gibi meslek seçimlerinde de büyük etkisinin olduğu düşünülmektedir. Seyahat kısıtlamalarıyla birlikte durma noktasına gelen turizm, pandemiden en çok etkilenen sektörler arasındadır. Bu çalışmada turizm eğitimi alan öğrencilerin pandemi sonrası sektöre bakış açılarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Sektörün mevcut kırılganlığı ve birçok açıdan zorlu geçen pandemi sürecinin etkisiyle turizm eğitimi alan öğrencilerin, gelecek kaygısı, sektörde çalışma istekleri incelenmek üzere 2019-2020-2021 yıllarında, yani pandemi öncesi ve sonrası, üniversitelerin turizm bölümlerine kayıt yaptıran öğrencilerle mülakat yapılmış, açık uçlu sorular sorulmuştur. Yüz yüze yapılan 42 görüşmeden alınan veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılanların %50'si kadın, %50'si erkek olup %52'si 18-20 yaş, %31'i 20-22 yaş, %17'si 22-25 yaş aralığındadır. Bölümü bilinçli seçenlerin oranı %72, yönlendirme yapılan oran %21, puanı sebebiyle seçenlerin oranı ise %7'dir. Bilinçli seçim yapanların %57'sinin yakın çevresinde turizm sektöründe çalışan olmadığı görülmüştür. Aynı yıllarda turizm bölümlerinde açılan kontenjanlar, yapılan kesin kayıt sayıları Yükseköğretim Kurulu (YÖK) sitesinden alınmış, veriler excel tablo üzerinde karşılaştırılmıştır. Ulaşılan bulgulara göre turizm bölümlerinin tercih edilme oranında önceki yıllara nazaran, bazı değişiklikler olmuş ancak büyük farkların oluşmadığı görülmüştür.

It is thought that it has impact on career choices while changing many lives, perspectives on life and future plans. Tourism has come to a standstill with travel restrictions and it is among the sectors most affected by the pandemic. The aim of this research is to examine the perspectives of tourism education students on the sector after the pandemic. With the effect of the current fragility of the sector and the pandemic process with difficult in many respects, in order to examine the future anxiety of the tourism students, open-ended questions were asked to who are enrolled universities in 2019-2020-2021, that is, before and after the pandemic. Data According to the findings, there is some changing of preference tourism departments but after compared to the data with previous years, it has not created big differences.
