Özet
Fiziksel ve kimyasal yapısı gereği altın diğer değerli madenler arasından sıyrılmış, tarihte kimi zaman alışverişte para olarak kullanılmış, kimi zaman uluslararası ödemeler sisteminin temelini oluşturmuş, günümüzde ise rezerv ve yatırım aracı olarak kullanılmaktadır. Savaşlar, siyasi krizler, ekonomik krizler ve doğal afetler gibi olaylar sırasında “güvenli liman” olarak görülen altın 2008 Küresel Finans Krizi sonrası daha fazla rağbet görmeye başlamıştır. Bunun başlıca sebebi altının para birimlerinden farklı olarak arkasında bir devlet ya da siyasi güç olmaması ve değerini yeryüzünde kısıtlı olmasından almasıdır. Türk halkının geçmişten beridir altına olan talebi gerek geleneksel gerekse yapısal nedenlerle ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu talep 2008 Küresel Finansal Kriziyle daha da artmış ve Türkiye’de finansal piyasaları etkilemiştir. Bu doğrultuda, bu çalışmada bir yatırım aracı olan altının Türkiye’deki yeri, Türkiye’de altın piyasaları ve bu piyasaların gelişimi, yastık altı altının ekonomiye kazandırılma çalışmaları incelenmiş ve öneriler getirilmiştir.
Because of its physical and chemical nature, gold had come into prominence, sometimes it has been used as Money in shopping, sometimes it has constituted the base of the international payments system througt out history, in the present days gold is used as reserv and investment tool. Gold which is considered as safe heaven during wars, political crisis, economic crisis and natural disasters, has been demanded more after 2008 Global Financial Crisis. The main reason of the demand is, other than the currencies, gold has no nation or political power behind it and it has its power from its scarcity on earth. The demand for gold of the Turkish people through out history has emerged from both traditional and structural reasons. This demand has boosted with 2008 Global Financial Crisis and affected Turkish financial markets. In this paralel, in this study, topics like the significance of gold in Turkey, gold markets and the progress of these markets in Turkey, practices of getting the idle gold into economy have been examined and suggestions are proposed.
