Özet
Bir yerleşim yerini diğer yerleşim yerlerinden ayıran en temel özellikler o yerin tarihi kimliğini oluşturmaktadır. Kimlik olgusu kentleri farklılaştıran onu özel yapan ayrım olarak tanımlanabilir. Her kentin kendine ait fiziksel, sosyal, ekonomik ve fonksiyonel bir karakteristiği bulunmaktadır. Kent kimliğini, tüm bu bileşenler bir araya gelerek birlikte üretmektedir. Kent özelinde yaşanan nüfus hareketliliği, göç, sanayileşme, doğal afet vs gibi fiziki, sosyal ve yönetimsel sebepler tarihi kent çekirdeğini değişime zorlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada İstanbul'un dönüşümüne paralel olarak İstanbul Metropoliten Alanının kentsel gelişme stratejilerine uygun bir biçimde, üst düzey merkez kimliği ile tüm metropole hizmet eden Kartal İlçesi özelinde ele alınan yönetimsel kararlar ile fiziki ve sosyal faktörlerin tarihi çekirdeğin kimliği üzerindeki etkisi ele alınmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçların ilçenin gelecek mekânsal planlama stratejilerine kaynaklık edeceği düşünülmektedir.
The most basic features that distinguish a settlement from other settlements constitute the historical identity of that place. The phenomenon of identity can be defined as the distinction that differentiates cities and makes them special. Each city has its own physical, social, economic and functional characteristics. All these components come together to produce the urban identity together. Physical, social and administrative reasons such as population mobility, migration, industrialization, natural disaster, etc. experienced in the city force the historical city core to change. In this study, in line with the transformation of Istanbul, in accordance with the urban development strategies of the Istanbul Metropolitan Area, the administrative decisions taken specifically in Kartal District, which serves the entire metropolis with its high-level central identity, and the effects of physical and social factors on the identity of the historical core are discussed. It is thought that the results obtained will be a source for the future spatial planning strategies of the district.*Critical: Do not use symbols, special characters, or math in paper title and abstract.
