Liderlerin narsistik kişilik özelliklerinin girişimci kişilik üzerindeki etkisinde sosyal zekanın aracı rolü

Özet
Günümüz yaşam koşullarının, bireylerin narsisizmini artırdığı bu çağda, sıklıkla narsistik kişilikler ile karşılaşmaktayız. Güç ve takdire duydukları ihtiyacın bu bireyleri liderlik pozisyonlarına yönelttiği bilinmektedir. Narsistik kişiliği oluşturan faktörler ile girişimci kişilik özellikleri arasındaki benzerlik, alan yazınındaki birçok çalışmaya konu olmuştur. Bununla birlikte narsistik bireylerin başkalarının davranışlarını okuma ve öngörme gibi bazı sosyal becerileri kullanma konusunda yetenekli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Yazında bu üç kavramın bir arada incelendiği çalışmalara rastlanmamış olması nedeni ile konu araştırmaya değer bulunmuştur. Bu kapsam dâhilinde çalışmanın amacı; liderlerin narsistik kişilik özelliklerinin, girişimci kişilik üzerindeki etkisinde sosyal zekanın aracı rolünü tespit etmektir. Araştırmada; İstanbul'da bulunan 613 kobi kurucusu, kurucu ortağı ve üst düzey yöneticisi ile dijital ortamda anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Toplanan veriler üzerinde frekans dağılımı analizi, güvenilirlik analizi, açıklayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri, korelasyon analizi ve yapısal eşitlik modeli uygulanmıştır. Bulgular, Narsistik Kişiliğin Sosyal Zeka üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olduğu, Sosyal Zekanın Girişimci Kişilik üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olduğu, Narsistik Kişiliğin Girişimci Kişilik üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olduğunu göstermiştir. Sosyal Zeka değişkeni, Yapısal Eşitlik Modeline dâhil edildiğinde, Narsistik Kişilik ve Girişimci Kişilik arasındaki ilişkinin yok olduğu görülmüştür. Bu nedenle Sosyal Zekanın, Narsistik Kişilik ve Girişimci Kişilik arasındaki ilişkide tam aracı etkisi olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
Today, as the living conditions trigger narcissism in individuals, we often come across people with narcissistic personality. It is known that these individuals' need for power and appreciation direct them towards pursuing leadership roles. The similarity between the factors comprising the narcissistic personality and entrepreneurial personality traits has been addressed in many studies in the literature. Moreover, it is assumed that narcissistic individuals are talented atusing certain social skills such as reading and predicting the behaviors of others. Since no study examining these three constructs together was encountered in the literature, the topic was found to be worth researching. In this context, this study aims to investigate the mediating role of social intelligence on the relationship between leaders' narcissistic personality traits and entrepreneurial personality. In the research, a survey was carried out in digital environment with 613 founders, co-founders, and senior executives of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Istanbul. Frequency distribution analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling were applied on the data collected. The findings revealed that Narcissistic Personality had a significant effect on Social Intelligence, Social Intelligence had a significant effect on Entrepreneurial Personality, and Narcissistic Personality had a significant effect on Entrepreneurial Personality. When the variable of Social Intelligence was included in the Structural Equation Model, the relationship between Narcissistic Personality and Entrepreneurial Personality was observed to disappear. Hence, it was concluded that Social Intelligence has a fully mediating effect on the relationship between Narcissistic Personality and Entrepreneurial Personality.
