dc.description.abstractDeniz Taşımacılığı, uluslararası ve küresel ticaretin temel bir parçasıdır ve aynı zamanda lojistik sektörünün de atardamarıdır. Bu tezin amacı, uluslararası ticarette oynadığı rolü vurgulayarak deniz taşımacılığının etkisini ve önemini yaymak ve büyütmektir. Bu ana taşıma modu, çeşitli ortak sorunlarla karşı karşıyadır ve bu tez ihmal edilmiş bir eksiklik olan armatör hatlarının (nakliye şirketleri) rolünü hesaba kataral ele alınmıştır. Dünyanın en büyük 10 uluslararası denizcilik şirketinin sorunların çözümüne ne ölçüde ve ne şekilde katkıda bulunduğunu soruyoruz. Bunu hükümetlerin, lojistik sektörünün ve akademisyenlerin uluslararası denizcilik çözümlerinin etkisini daha iyi anlamalarını sağlamak için yapıyoruz. Yüksek navlun oranları ve ekipman sıkıntısı gibi konularda gerçek hayattan örnekler kullanarak, armatör gemi hatlarının genelde etken olduğunu ancak aynı zamanda çözüm sağlayıcı olabileceğini gösteriyoruz. Ayrıca denizcilik sektörünün ticaret seviyesine yenilikçi katkılar sağlayabileceğini ve etkileyebileceğini belirtiyoruz. Bu çalışmanın önemi, armatör gemi hatlarının eksikliği, çözümleri ve eğilimlerine odaklanarak deniz taşımacılığı ve endüstrinin uluslararası ticaret üzerindeki etkisine ilişkin teorik anlayışımıza katkı sağlamasıdır.en_US
dc.description.abstractMaritime Transport (or Ocean Shipping) is the elemental part of international and global trade, as well as it is also the artery of the logistics sector. The aim of this thesis is to deploy and grow the impact and significance of maritime transport to account for the role that it plays in international trade. This major mode of transport faces a variety of common issues and it has been neglected to account for the role of steamship lines (a.k.a. shipping companies), a shortcoming which this thesis addresses. We ask to what extent and in what ways the world's top 10 international shipping companies contribute to solving issues. We do so to better enable governments, the logistics sector, and academics to understand the influence of international maritime solutions. Using real-life examples of the issues such as high rates and equipment shortage, we demonstrate that steamship lines are mostly the factors but at the same time can be the solution providers. We also indicate that the maritime industry can make innovative contributions to and influence the level of trade. The significance of this study is that it informs our theoretical understanding of maritime transport and industry's influence on international trade by introducing a focus on steamship lines' lacking, solutions, and trends.en_US
