Öğe Assessment of electronics and communication education curriculum(World Scientific and Engineering Acad and Soc, 2007) Boynak, Ferdi; Alsan, Sezgin; Mastorakis, N; Dondon, PContinuously improvement of education has become a major goal for schools and assessment has been important part for this improvement process. This paper describes the assessment process of electronics and communication education curriculum of Marmara University in Istanbul. Since its establishment in 1975, electronics and communication education curriculum of Electronics and Computer Education Department had several major reviews by adding and/or changing course contents, credits and student workload. Effects of those changes have not been assessed yet. It is important for their progress; the institutions need to determine how well their graduates are doing, what the strengths and weaknesses of their curriculum are. Feedback is needed for both better curriculum design and teaching/learning methods. Both printed and digital medical images take more spaces than the others. In this paper, a mechanism which transfers easily the printed X-ray images to the digital environment enabling radiological assessment and archiving is set and a software is developed to help the analysis of those images. It is aimed to digitize the conventional images with a minimum loss while keeping the image quality. The setup which is in a closed box consists of a light source, a camera for image transfer and lenses. The software provides applying the image processing algorithms on digitized images and archiving them in DICOM format. © 2013 IEEE.Öğe Redesign of an electronics education curriculum(2002) Boynak, Ferdi; Alsan, SezginDepartment of Electronics and Computer Education Department of Technical Education Faculty of Marmara University educates students to become technical teachers for vocational and technical high schools and technologist for industry. Since its foundation in 1976 the curriculum of the department has been reviewed several times and some major changes have taken place. With the recent study on curriculum, modern approaches, techniques and tools are used and a structural process is initiated. These techniques are based on total quality management and continuous quality improvement studies.
