Özet
Bu çalışma, sanat ve mimarlık disiplinleri içinde bir metafora dönüşen ‘ev’ kavramını temel alarak, kadının farklı varlık boyutlarındaki mekânsal yorumunu incelemektedir. Bir mekânsal yapıya kadın/öznenin etkisi, bu mekânın betimleyen/yorumlayan dış eril göz (gözlemcinin cinsiyetinden bağımsız olarak) tarafından sınırlandırılması iki örnek üzerinden incelenecektir. Bir 15. yüzyıl Doğu minyatüründeki ‘Süleyman Peygamber'in Divanı ve Belkıs’ ve güncel bir belgeseldeki ‘Çoban Hatice’ kendi mekânlarını nasıl etkilediler ve bu mekânlar başka bir gözlemci tarafından nasıl yorumlandı? Sonuç olarak bu çalışmada; erkek egemen toplum içinde sürekli denetlenen ve toplumsal roller açısından pasif tutulan kadın kimliğinin, bir mekânsal anlatım içindeki etkinliği sorgulanmıştır.
Based on the concept of “home”, which has begun turning into a metaphor within the disciplines of contemporary art and architecture, this research examines the general spatial interpretation of women in various dimensions of existence. A woman's influence on the spatial structure as a subject and the limitations on women’s space, ruled by the outer male view as an observer (regardless of the gender of the observer), are analysed through two examples: a representation called "The Divan of Solomon and Bilqis Queen of Sheba” on a 15th century Eastern miniature and “The Shepherd Hatice”, a character in a contemporary documentary. This research is also focused on how these characters influenced on their own spaces and how these spaces were interpreted by male observers. As a conclusion, this study questions the efficiency of a woman’s body, constantly controlled and made passive in terms of social roles, in a male dominant society, in spatial expressions.
