Abstract
One thing that Sweden is famous for is its long standing neutrality. In this paper, I first gave an overview of Swedish neutrality during the twentieth century and then examined it during the period starting with 2000 and ending with 2004. For this second aim, I studied the Swedish foreign policy statements belonging to this period. Findings of this researchtells that a remodelling of the Swedish security policy took place in this period. One important aspect of this remodelling is the abandonment of the policy of neutrality. The general shape that this remodellingtook is both related to the traditional objectivesof the Swedish security policies, the changing external conditions, threats and risks.
İsveç uzun sürmüş olan notralite politikasıyla ünlü bir ülkedir. Bu makalede, önce yirminci yüzyıldaki İsveç notralitesinin bir genel özetini veriyorum ve arkasından da 2000 ile başlayan ve 2004 ile sonlanan dönemde İsveç nötralitesini inceliyorum. Bu ikinci amaç için bu döneme ait, İsveç’in dış politika demeçlerini inceledim. Bu araştırmanın bulguları bu dönemde İsveç’in güvenlik politikasının yeniden modellendiğini ortaya koydu. Bu yeniden modellenmenin önemli bir yönü nötralite politikasının terkedilmesidir. Yeniden modellenmenin aldığı genel biçim hem İsveç güvenlik politikalarının geleneksel hedefleriyle hem de değişen dış koşullar, tehditler ve risklerle ilgilidir.
