Özet
Dünya Klasında Üretim (World Class Manufacturing-WCM), sürekli geliştirme odaklı bazı özel süreçlerin uygulandığı bir felsefe olarak günümüzde dünya ölçeğinde faaliyet gösteren birçok işletme tarafından ilgi görmektedir. Fakat WCM uygulamalarında gerçekleştirilen süreçlerin bir bilgi sistem alt yapısı ile yönetilmesi kaçınılmazdır. Bu anlamda işletmelerde bulunan ve temel olarak operasyonel süreçlerin yönetilmesini destekleyen Kurumsal Kaynak Planlaması sistemlerinin WCM süreçlerinde yetersiz kaldığı görülmektedir. Buna bağlı olarak WCM sisteminin içerisinde bulunan uygulamaların bütünsel bir yapı içerisinde entegrasyonunu sağlayan bilgi sistem ve teknolojilerine ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Aksi takdirde WCM uygulamalarından beklenen başarı sağlanamamaktadır. Bu çalışma ile WCM konseptine sahip büyük işletmelerde bilgi sistem ve teknolojilerinin WCM’e etkisi, dünya ölçeğinde bir işletmenin uygulamaları üzerinden incelenmektedir.
WCM is showed interest as a philosophy in which some continuous development based special processes are applied by many world scale company currently having operations. However, it is inevitable that WCM processes performed in WCM applications be managed by a information system infrastructure. By means of this, it is seen that Enterprise Resource Planning Systems basicly supporting management of operational processes in corporations are inadequate. Depending on this, information systems and technologies which enable the integration of applications inside WCM systems in a holistic structure are needed. Otherwise, it is not likely to achieve the expected success in WCM applications. Via this study, the effect of information systems and technologies in large scale companies which have WCM concept is examined upon the applications of a worldwide companies.
