Bir gıda firmasının yeni bir tesis açma ihtiyacı sonucu tesis yeri seçimi problemi ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Trakya Bölgesinde yeni bir tesis açılmasına karar verilmesi durumunda, olası tesis yerinin belirlenmesine çalışılmıştır. Peyniraltı suyu ülkemizde atık olarak görülmektedir ve çevre kirliliğine sebep olmaktadır. Peyniraltı suyu çabuk bozulabilir bir gıda maddesidir. Kurulacak tesis peyniraltı suyunu protein tozuna dönüştürecektir. Çok Kriterli Karar Verme (ÇKKV) yöntemlerinden; Topsis ve Vikor yöntemleriyle, Trakya Bölgesinde tesis yeri seçimi için potansiyel bölgelerin değerlendirilmesi ve bunun sonucunda; en uygun yer seçimi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Uygulamada; karar verici olarak akademisyen, endüstri mühendisi ve sektörde çalışan yetkililerden oluşan bir grup belirlenmiştir. Karar vericiler tarafından, sekiz adet kriter ve üç adet alternatif belirlenmiştir.The strategic decisions such as facility selection are the decisions that should consider several criteria contrasting with each other in most instances. The facility location problem we considered here has emerged due to the need to open a new facility of a food company. In this study, if a new facility was decided to be opened in Thrace Region, it was tried to determine the possible plant location. Whey is considered as waste in our country and causes environmental pollution. Whey is a perishable foodstuff. The facility which will be established will convert the whey to protein powder. In this study by using techniques of Topsis and Vikor, belonging to Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques, it is tried to determine potential regions for the facility chose and selection of the most appropriate location for the new facility in Thrace Region. In practice, a group of academics, industrial engineers and officials working in the sector have been identified as decision makers.
